Our Approach
To heal the system, we need to heal ourselves.
We often think of “the system” as something that is external to ourselves. But each one of us in public health and healthcare comprise the system. If we want to transform our systems to be more healing, more human, we first need to embrace our own internal healing in order to show up differently in that system.
Focus on relationships.
“The depth of relationships between the individuals in a system determines the strength of that system.” -adrienne maree brown, Emergent Strategy. Systems are simply a series of interconnected relationships. But all too often, those relationships get short shrift in lieu of the deluge of tasks at hand. Strengthening and humanizing our core work relationships fosters collective leadership. It enables us to move and adapt together in the face of challenges.
